For over 50 years the Kuhn Family has been servicing and providing quality inspections here in Central New Jersey. It started in 1971 with Ken Austin, Ryan's grandfather, who started a local home inspection company here in New Jersey and eventually franchised the business to what is now HouseMaster. As a charting member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), one of the industry leaders in training and education, Ken helped pave the way for the industry into what it is today.
When Ken retired, Ryan's mother Kathleen took over as president and CEO of HouseMaster. Since then, she has been on the forefront of the home inspection industry. Much like her father Ken, Kathleen prides herself on helping entrepreneurs achieve their dreams as small business owners.
Ryan's father, Mike, also has a long history in the business. He has been performing inspections since before Ryan was born and has since passed the 12,000+ inspection mark. In his 35+ years as a business owner, one of his favorite accomplishments is his published book Pocket Idiot's Guide to Home Inspections. Great for home buyers and realtors who want a basic understanding a home inspection.
Growing up in the business has helped give Ryan a unique perspective of the industry. He understands that not only does a home inspector need to be thorough, but they also need to communicate their findings in an easy-to-understand way. He strives to make sure he is as honest, thorough, and transparent as possible during the process.
